Kat Karnaky is a textile designer in Oakland, CA, whose quirky and original work can be found on fashion and home textiles. Since the beginning of her career 16 years ago, she has worked for small independent designers as well as for large companies like Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters, Pottery Barn and currently, for Williams-Sonoma Home.

Kat received her BA in Textile Design at California College of Art in Oakland, CA and her MS in Textile Design at Philadelphia University in Philadelphia, PA. She was an Apprentice and Print Fellow at The Fabric Workshop and Museum in Philadelphia, PA.

In her free time, she collaborates with her sister, a fashion and costume designer who lives in LA. Together they have created Miss KK Sister as an outlet for their fun and kooky designs that combine their love of vintage fashion and conversational prints. Every print and dress is an original, from the fabric design and hand printing to the pattern drafting and sewing. With each piece, they try to exemplify the craft and technique of handmade dressmaking.
